The KIss...

another practice for the portrait journal...all but the first picture should enlarge..

this is one of my favorite pictures of Sarah...the mouth was not easy
and i am here to tell you all these blonds aren't that easy either

but here we go

acrylics/on gesso'ed watercolor canvas

here the beginning gets drafted

the eyes just weren't right so i redid them...i might have messed them up

this picture of the painting doesn't show the painting like it shows in person..i don't think it is just the glare....
but i am posting anyway...
thanks for looking

Does Sarah like it (in person)? Do you like it? Does anybody else count? I think it could use more of the same color that's below her cheekbones on the sides of her forehead. But - hey. That's just me. I have to have my wife 'judge' all of my portrait work. The first one I did she told me the woman had green cheeks...

I'm glad I don't draw. I would never make a good critic. This looks great to me.

Another fab portrait! I think you did a great job and puckered lips must be so hard to paint.
Trying to help here....maybe I would take off the smiley corners of the mouth?
Lovely photo of Sarah BTW.

What a fun painting! She is so pretty, and I love that she's blowing a kiss.

Blonds are hard for me to paint, also. I never think I get the color mixed right. They need to come out with a paint called Blond Hair or something. lol It sure would make it easier.

Hi, Mary! You sure picked a tough subject! But I think it turned out well! I like the vignetting you did! :-)

Mar;
I think you did a wonderful job on a difficult pose. It looks like her too!

What a difficult pose-the foreshortening on the hand alone would give me difficulty. I like the way she turned out, though the first picture shows the puckered lips the best I think. I think you got the hair colour well!. (! are not bad-it is just that I seem to use so many of them!)
