Have you Heard!

Birds gathered before the big storm last night...all the animals were out!
but the wires were full!!!
last night tornado's hit all around
downed lots of trees but as far as I am aware no injuries and no demolished buildings
i watched 3 tornado's make up then they went south

softball grapefruit and baseball sized hail fell just as close as 10 miles to the north of us
outed vehicles windows!
a full large grown man was shown on KELO land update holding 3 of the hailstones and his chest was full.
but today is beautiful
:)
and everything is is so lush green and clean..

How frightening! I am glad you are ok-it sounds like very hazardous weather! I like the birds on the wire-very 'The Birds'!

And you are SAFE! Weather always amazes me at how different it can be in just a few miles, and sometimes within a single block.

Gotta love that photo of the birds.

I heard about the storms in your state, and was wondering if you lived anywhere nearby. Relieved to know you're okay, Mary. Whew!

I know how scary tornadoes can be, having lived in KS for so long. A couple days after I moved here in 1999, we had 22 tornadoes in one night, and my neighborhood looked like a war zone. Somehow, my house withstood the storms. But, we had to go through armed guards to drive down our street because of the looting going on. I had never seen anything like it before, and it really left a huge impact on me.

Not to make light of it, but I wonder how Sturgis faired...

Yikes, what a scary experience. We got some hail a couple of weeks ago that damaged cars as well. Scary. I'm glad you were okay through it all.

Hail that size can do some real big damage to cars and roofs and people. I wouldn't want to get clunked on the head by anything that big. :)Bea

the hail didn't even get us
2 miles away it stopped with the hail

i don't think as far out as rapid city way did this storm originate
so as far as i know
sturgis is just fine
but
i am already seeing motorcylcles heading out!
is it next weekend or the weekend after the rally???
always get that confused
:)

Wow! Good to hear you are just fine. I can't imagine what it must feel like to see them form in the sky and wonder where it will go, who will be affected and how bad will it be.

i love storms. my sister who moved to seattle many years ago and no longer gets tornado watches, t-storms, etc. and misses them when i tell her we just had one... she once told me if i ever died in a tornado she wouldn't be that sad b/c she would know i died happy.
