Carmen's Class Project

This represents the beginning of my background, I think I went a tad to dark.

Adding some more color and some shapes.

Transferred the image. (An old original drawing)

Adding color.

Adding more layers

Still I think I started too dark which makes my layers hard to see.

Torbus and Co's Carmen is offering "Spill It" a class in letting loose and smear that paint.

Such a personable lady. She gets you all excited to paint.
If you want to learn transferring image, she gives a great lesson.
She stimulates a body to get into the studio and paint...go paint...
Mostly she encourages you to use YOUR work in the projects you are going to use transfers in.
Sad,
but you know I never thought to use old sketches in this manner...EXCELLENT though for recycling
or bringing life to a sketch laying in a journal someplace...go search and resurrect those pieces!
Check her out!

I like the way it's looking. I tend to gravitate toward darker colors too so I understand where you are coming from. Nice use of the small and large circles.

I can see a huge transformation from where your painting began and where it finished. You certainly were able to smear the paint today. I was so impressed with your sketch you added (or transferred) to the piece. Since I can't draw, I would never be able to do that. Yours is wonderful!

I think you did a fine job!! I have yet to do a transfer, and I royally screwed up my background. Oh well, it became something else and I will do another one.

I like the colors!!

Wow, Mary! You've produced an amazing piece here! I actually like the darkness...there is a lot of depth here. The lighter colors produce an etheral look. Thanks for the link...off to check it out now! :>

These classes you take sure are interesting...Nothing like that around here. Strangely I have been looking through old work for my recycling project, now I'll add looking through old sketches!

hELLO mAR - just loving all these updates! The soldering in particular - just fantastic! Carmen's class project looke like a heck of a lot of fun. I love letting loose! I especially love letting loose in my studio! I've been so busy lately doing everything for everybody that I've forgotten almost that I have a studio. Poor me. Lol.
