Blizability

This is the visibility level from the truck this morning. It is worse now...as in total white out! But this was good compared to just 5 miles north. Headed to JR's to open the presents...we didn't stay long. The drifts were forming as we visited!
We are just on the edge of this blizzard...in drifts by the house here stands of 4 feet or more.
So, I can't imagine what others are experiencing.
The interstate is closed. So if you weren't where you needed to be last night
you weren't getting there.
So far we have electricity, but others aren't so fortunate. The wind is that of 30 below!!! Can you imagine living in the tepee HA!
OR worse dug into the side of the hill...no thankyou...this is as pioneer as I care to experience!
My hats off to the predecessors..they were indeed a spirited tough lot!
Have a terrific holiday and new year!

Snow Doggies

Blizzarding today! In the one picture you can see the snow and the winds are blowing. Here Baby (in the front) Snowflake (middle) and Roach are helping clear the snow out of their kennels.

They love to play in the snow...I tried to capture some pictures of that but I wasn't successful...maybe tomorrow.
This is part of the kennels then you see off the driveway joining the road...you can't see across the road the snow is thick.

Snowy Trees

Yesterday, we had a bit of snow...somewhere around 6 inches..not much, but enough to make a mess, or create a beautiful scene. I think it created a beautiful scene. Not to mention my wheat crop is going to enjoy the water from the melt. Since we didn't get any wind with this snow fall, all the snow is atop the crop. YAY!

Yesterday, the temperature was only 0...yes that is zero. This morning it was -10..yes below zero. (Everyone experiencing this kind of weather can snicker, we know these aren't bad temps)

This after noon though it is 40 degrees...everything is melting very nicely.

I took a picture of the trees on the hill in the south west pasture. I am not sure if it shows but, the snow shows lovely definition laying on the branches.

I hope you can see it.

:)
