July 14, 2018 Join in this FULL day!

An amazing information packed day!

I was once VERY intimidated using Lightroom and Photoshop.
Are you in this place?

Here is an example of a finished version of the 'Old Barn'.
One of the planned projects for Photoshop today.
In this version, the Horses are larger and in the foreground, yet the whole perspective remains true.
We are going to become familiar with the Transform key.
This key helps enlarge or shrink proportionately with the image theme, and keeps the perspective correct.
A most useful tool when you want to change the story of the picture.

This is a second version of the 'Old Barn'.
As you can see I pushed the Horses into the background.
Changing the entire feel of the story board.
Yet it keeps to perspective.
The Transform key is the bomb!!!

This image of the horses and the next of the old barn, are what comprises the project.

This is the old barn.
When I took the picture it was really washed out.  I didn't check the setting on my camera and I took a extremely poor image.  But, I was able to bring it back to life in Lightroom.
We are going to go over Lightroom so you can begin your Photoshop projects with the best images.

A LOT you can do in Lightroom!!  Bring the image back to life all the way through to changing the entire appeal of the image, with some pretty spiffy pre-sets.
I am going to show you where to find them and then load them.
I am amazed with Pre-sets!! Truly !!!
They are the semi-automatic foolproof shortcut, that begins the process of editing your image.

Layering images, using brushes, FX features, blur are to name just a few of the things we cover in this class.
This class is jam packed with a LOT of information.
We are going to work through a LOT of images and at least 2 projects.
Allowing time for working up your images.  Making them tell the story you imagine different, from the single image your camera shot!

I have notes from when I took classes that are going home with you as references.  If you experience a snag, do not hesitate to contact me, we can work through any issue on google chat, using screen share.
I am not just 'leaving' you to figure out what you might miss.

Photoshop and Lightroom are super amazing tools.  !!!
I was once hugely intimidated working in them and knew just the barest of the barest to get a fair image.  Looking back, this was silly of me, the programs are so worth getting to know.  As I was, you are going to be so glad you have moved forward to using them!

I wouldn't want to miss this workshop!  The opportunity to learn in a small class.  Being able to have my questions answered.  Answered until I understood!  To me a hands on approach is a better way of learning.

This is that opportunity!

See you there!

Images of TX

I have been snapping pictures of just about everything I find down here in Texas
there is still a lot of critters indicative to both SD and TX...that being the case a lot of what I am getting pictures of will find their way into future artwork.

Some for paintings be it either canvas or glass and I have a few murals planned for the new store. Here is a shy longhorn calf peeking around momma.

And I KNOW these are bad critters when they grow up
wild pigs get to be 600 and upwards of over 1000 pounds as an adult
and they are destructive and MEAN they WILL kill you
but aren't they cutest little critters as babies.

they stood by the road for the longest time
well until i got the camera ready then they toooook off
and they are FAST too!

I do not know where momma was but i guarantee if i had gotten out of the truck she would have made her presence known!

AEDM day 14 and 15

First let me tell you about the weather today...sunny and mild...here is a picture of it hailing! WRONG weather people ...again.

Next I am still working on photos for my moms Xmas present. I am fixing her up with one of those digital frames...since she doesn't live nearby or plan to ever visit here i thought to put lots of area photos plus of course family stuff in the frame
editing takes FOREVER!!!

Last night the birds were just flocking to the trees outside my studio..there were tons of them.

I kept trying to get closer and closer and they would move around but never fully left.

It was beginning to get dark when this picture was taken and just a few moments before the next picture was taken so you can see how fast the sun was dropping at this time of the day
like around 5 or maybe 6...probably closer to 5..
sorta time lapsed it for you.

In the next picture though you can see they were robins!
look how red they are!

I am not exactly painting but still cleaning on this panels pieces and I have been taking pictures so that is my art...
Are YOU continuing to art a day?
I have to say it is quite the challenge to art EVERY day! to do what i typically consider arting
however
remember
Everything a person does in a day is art. (I think this is the challenge to realize this)
You can artfully ask a question, or answer it...do the regular tasks...cook the meal, change the diaper
it is all a manner of art...
In my opinion, art can be the typical or non typical...so it is all good...

Old Building Backs

While in Deadwood,
I snapped up pictures to what I thought might make some nice layers for texture in photoshop.
Here are the backs of some Fancy gambling casinos..the fronts are all modernized and sparkly...
Oh they are beautiful...crystal chandeliers and gorgeous furniture...of course the gaming machines and tables
but i love the old patina better...
Are you having much success with your on-line shops?...or do you prefer the gallery boutique style for selling ?

More lessons

Two more compositions I achieved using Susan's workbook...

Hanna's graduation picture was my fist accomplishment...

these other two pictures were in the workbook...actually the lady with the umbrella i did more to and this isn't the correct finished piece...but i am not redoing the post

Digital Practice

Learning digital compositions using Susan Tuttle's new workbook
Photo Impressions
has helped me tremendously. she gives good lessons with step by step instructions...helpful inspiring works to get you going and a CD! that has ready images and brushes to get you going and sources to grab more!
IF i can achieve decent results...anyone can.
She is also offering a workshop on line.
Check out the book tho you won't be disappointed.
