Thursday...

Has been a busy day!

Here is a lesson using titan buff mixed with the paint palette
Notice how it softens the hue and gives it a grungy effect at the same time

Here is the sign crew...Craig's brother Billy in the plaid and Jack in the blue coat just arrived today

JR is hidden in the middle and his buddy Keaton

Doing a fine job hanging the sign

Here it is hung...it shrank some but it is still visible enough from the road as they pass by...I am standing in the road to take the picture.

Fuse update...everyone arrived at the same time and it was coincidentally the same moments apparently the glass was readiest to sag
I over sag the piece...if the ripple isn't too top heavy it will make an excellent tub
otherwise not so much it will be too tippy a tip jug...we shall see
it has to anneal 5 hours then tomorrow when it is totally cool I can open the kiln
another huge problem with an over sag is the possibility it won't come off the mold...
we shall see...

XXXXX
fingers crossed it isn't too out of proportion and it lifts off the prop...

thanks for dropping by

:)

WOW! ALL the news that's fit to print. Are you going to redo the shot shell if it sagged too much?

Let us see it one way or the other.

The titan buff really makes this background. The other colors are just subtle enough and the blue border really sets it all off. I'm eagerly waiting to see what transpires next.

Wow, that sign is huge. Never in a million years did I imagine it was as large as it is. It took two large men and farm equipment, but your sign has found its home.

OK, I can't count. I finally saw the third person helping with the sign. What a job that must have been. And it looks like your weather and our weather was about the same. Not the best for hanging a sign!

Hi, Mary! The journal pages are fabulous! I like the titan buff effect. And your sign looks marvelous! Is that your barn or a kennel in the background? It's a nice building! :-)

Hi Mar,
I had never heard of titan buff and kept reading about it in my classes. I had a proper look in the paint shop and found it is called buff titanium here! I do like it and the effect you have got here. Interesting to read about your glass work too-it sounds fun-I like things where you are never quite sure how they will turn out. And your sign! It is huge-I imagined it was smaller in the other photo. It looks really good. It is the sort of thing I would drive past and think about-probably stop and take a picture and wonder who the artist is who lives there. Brilliant!
