Torrential rainstorm!
Living on the Plains lends to a lot of nature drama...INTENSE storms...last week was no exception to her display for a rain shower.
The wind was swirling around and brought the rain coming down in every direction at once...just incredible!!!
in case you can't tell that is the creek filling with the run off water...FASSSST swirl there too!
Here is sketch 3 for sketchproject4 through Art House.

Isn't mother nature wonderful? She provides us with inspiration daily. :)Bea
We call 'em Gulley Washers. I suppose you could call your Acrylic substitutes Golly Washes...
Hi, Mary! Another fine sketch for your journal! Love the mix of blues, purples, and grays! :-)
A very atmospheric piece!
I just wanted to say thanks for all your amazing comments on my blog Mar......you are SO eloquent!

Hi Mar - thought I'd swing on by and see what you're up to. Wow! Heaps of gorgeous stuff by the look of it!! I love the board book journal and what a neat idea with the collage inserts! The angel is ridiculously gorgeous, btw. AND, we've got rain here too.
Nice drawing and I love the colors. I'm taking the journal class with Julie too and just love it! Your collage looks good!
Just love the bluish-purple rain !
Hope there will be no rain this 2 days :)
Your painting reminds me of the torential rains we had in KS last week. I know exactly what those downpours are like. At least you weren't stuck in a loop like we were which lasted over a day. Your art perfectly portrays the scary rain, wind, and perceived aftermath.
Wonderful expressive drawings- I feel the drama and unexpectedness of nature's display in your journal work for sure! Lovely Mar!
